Metro Manila: Around the World in 36 Plates

Every country in the world takes pride of their language, government, people, achievements and all sorts of aspects. Undeniably, one of the evident showcase of national identity is thru FOOD. Hence, we have what we call national dish.

A national dish is a culinary dish that is strongly associated with a particular country. A dish can be considered a national dish for a variety of reasons, such as being a staple food (commonly eated throughout the country), contains an exotic ingredient endemic to the country, prepared for festive culinary tradition, and promoted as national dish by the country itself.

With these reasons, I searched through the web these dishes and where to eat them within Metro Manila as we know there are various international restaurants scattered, serving delicious cuisine form different parts of the world.

In this post, I will list some of them (as I see a de facto national dish or something popular within the country based on internet resources) and include information where to find the restaurants serving these. Note that some restaurants mentioned maybe no longer operating. Each picture contains flag map, dish name in native and English languages as well as the country’s official name it represents.
