This step-by-step Indian e-visa guide covers Tourist only, the visa requirements, and the entire online application process, based on my personal experience. This focuses on desktop application via their website.
India is now the most populous country in the world. Though regarded as a subcontinent as South Asia, it is still not a popular destination among Filipinos due to what they perceive on social media (about the street food, safety, etc.). Despite that, my wandering spirit didn’t stop me to take a chance visiting this country, which I first saw on encyclopedia and history books (Indus river as birthplace of an Asian valley civilization).
The Government of India has decided to grant e-Tourist visa for 30-days to the Philippines Citizens on gratis basis (no visa fee) for the initial period of one year effective from August 1, 2025 to July 31, 2026.

Luckily, our country Philippines is one of the foreign States whose nationals can apply for e-visa.

INDIAN E-VISA REQUIREMENTS
- Make sure you have the following:
- Digital photo of your passport data in PDF format. Minimum 10 KB. Maximum 300 KB.
- Digital photo of your face (350 pixels x 350 pixels aspect ratio) in JPEG format that meets the requirements. Minimum 10 KB. Maximum 1 MB.
- Bank card for paying the visa fee (Mastercard or Visa).
HOW TO APPLY FOR INDIAN E-VISA
The application form is easy to fill-up. It took me a while to put details on ‘Countries Visited in Last 10 Years’ and luckily, I have an excel file of my trips with dates. Note that we Filipinos don’t have to pay the visa fee for 30-day e-Tourist Visa.
I got the result on the next day! I was super happy it was granted (as a first-timer)! At first, I was anxious not getting one because I thought they still ask me more supporting documents for my visa application, but I was wrong. Yahoo! 🙂
What does a Indian E-Visa look like?
Here’s what the Indian E-Visa looks like. It doesn’t get attached to the passport. Download the PDF file at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/StatusEnquiry. Just bring a copy and show the Immigration Officer when you arrive. Application ID is the visa number. Also, don’t forget to fill-up e-Arrival Card before arriving at India: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/earrival/
